What we do, and who we are!
We currently maintain about 18000 gallons of water in our hatchery/facility. Our initial focus was towards Rift Lake, Lake Victoria, Malagasy and West African Cichlds, however we have modified our imports to include fish from Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Venezuela and some Central American cichlids, piranha, stingrays, as well as Loricariidae and catfish.
We use our tanks for holding stock that we import, to be sure they are healthy and acclimated before shipping or selling them to our customers. We also use some for our own breeding program, while others are provided to the Cichlid Conservation Working Group to be used for their conservation efforts for Lake Victoria, West Africa and Malagasy Cichlids.
Now that you know about our business, maybe we should say who we are. We are members of the AZA, the American Cichlid Association, the Capital Cichlid Association, and the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society. We are also active in the Species Survival Program for Lake Victoria, the Population Management Program for Madagascar cichlids, and founders of the Cichlid Conservation Working Group.
We routinely speak for aquarium clubs about Madagascar, Lake Tanganyika, Species Survival/Conservation issues, and are now developing additional presentations for West Africa and our South American cichlids and Piranha. If you wish to contact us about speaking at your aquarium club we are always happy to try and find ways to get the word out about conservation and the fish we keep. Please send an email to Ronald
