Q- My own question: Does any one have any good suggestions for acuatic plants that would do well with African cichlids (I am thinking of the river dwelling cichlids)?
A- Since I'm not that good at American common names I'll stay on Latin ones, hope this will help You all the same. Well (since You're referring to riverine cichlids from Africa) I kept my jewel pairs (Hemichromis lifalili) in a well planted tank "filled" with Anubias (I'm using it also with malawians), Microsorium and then
Echinodorus, Ceratophillum (also used with malawian) and Vallisneria (either the giant one actually from S. America or V. aethiopica from L. Malawi itself).
All those plants are not fussy about lightning and do well without the expensive CO2 injection ...
