Food: Will accept any live freshwater fish used as a normal feeder fish, thawed frozen fish fillets, shrimp and other meat products.
General Information:Serrasalmus Manueli from Brazil and Venezuela. The Serrasalmus Manueli is the largest of described piranha and has a fairly wide distribution in Brazil and into Venezuela. A very unique piranha that has been exported for a period of time into the aquaria trade.
Aggression: ( 6 / 7 ) The fish is not capable of being shoaled in most instances.
Breeding:I have not been able to verify any claims to captive brreding of this species. No known instances of aquaria breeding.

Insights from keepers of this fish
This is a difficult fish to acclimate and to ship, especially at large sizes. Best kept as a single specimen per tank. Ronald Nielson
