In Aquaria
Adult Size
Minimum Aquarium Size:40 US Gallons
Temperature:
PH:6.6 - 7.2
Food:Does well with most meat products that are low in oil content.
General Information:The fish has been commonly imported and incorrectly listed under the name Serrasalmus medinei. Though many have started using a classification of spilopleura cf., I have been unable to find a museum or scientific examination of this fish that would place it into the spilopleura species, it could just as easily be called S. medinei cf. using this example. I will continue to search for data to support any naming convention from a scientifically researched project, but until that can be found, it will be called Peru sp. c. The fish is best kept alone in a tank but maintains wonderful coloration even at larger sizes.
